I live in a suburban area in Japan (non-tourist location).On days when Giant Mushrooms appear — especially during cross-day — a large number of players using GPS spoofing tools suddenly appear in my area. I have noticed that many of these players are from Taiwan, where location spoofing tools are actively promoted for targeting Giant Mushrooms, beautiful postcards, and planting flowers.
As a residential neighborhood, it is impossible for so many foreigners to appear in the midnight, and they all show up at the exact same times.
This situation has become increasingly severe, even regular mushrooms are now being targeted by these cheaters! And the game is no longer as fun as it used to be.
Many other players in the community have also reported the same problem.
I truly enjoy Pikmin Bloom and sincerely hope Niantic will take measures to deal with the GPS spoofing problem.
Unfortunately this has been discussed many times and is becoming a long-term problem, not just in Japan but basically everywhere else outside of Taiwan I guess…
There are many posts and players complaining from Europe, Australia, and probably more since it’s been getting worse, too…
Nothing has been done and not so much of a useful response was given either…
Maybe posting there in the new Chinese forum so that the complaint can reach the cheaters easier and make them feel guilty…? (which I highly doubt of course cause they’re just shameless)
Literally just saw a post on Threads(they’ve deleted it… sadly) the other day thanking and praising spoofing app developers. And the first place they decided to spoof to is Japan to gather the Shrine&Temple decor Pikmins and “good-looking” postcards…
Not only the GPS spoofing app but also the giant mashroom detective app they use. Why I know that？ Because they showed up on threads many times. Besides the spoofing app on Google Play and Apple Store, some of the cheaters developed their own app and then sharing on social medias. I think Ninanic already known everything but just don’t have any action.
