I’m sick and tired of cheaters sniping mushrooms from local players.
Niantic urgently needs to fix this:
Auto-detect & Perma-ban: Stop with the soft warnings. Auto-ban GPS spoofers immediately.
Simplified In-Game Reporting: Let us report players directly from the Mushroom screen.
Here’s the cold truth: Spoofers DO NOT spend more money on this game. They cheat specifically to farm free daily mushrooms across time zones without buying Mushroom Tickets. Meanwhile, legit, paying players who actually support the game get screwed over.
Niantic is losing real, paying players to protect lazy cheaters. Many of the players have already quit this game because of the spoofer issue.
I found an article on a Taiwanese website teaching players how to use spoofing tools without getting detected. PB team, why not just announce that you don’t care at all if you are not going to deal with it?
Spoofers aren’t just stealing mushrooms, they use cheat programs to plant flowers and get coins, that’s why there’s so many unnatural flower-planting routes on the map They’re also destroying Wayfarer now — uploading stolen photos or even AI-generated images, then rallying more cheaters to spam the votes. I really don’t want to receive those disgusting postcards
Also, what I would think would help is a dedicated report system (not even for mushrooms) that wouldn’t be bound to the Support agent page. Something like a button in the “Help” section of settings, maybe opening a browser window or a in-app browser where you can put everything, a map where you can also select the locations where the spoofers… spoofed
Also a database or a “support ticket history page”, where all the reports can be shown and you can HOW the “Investigations” go… IK that Niantic (Now Scopley) have always said “We can’t share anything due to privacy”, but if Fortnite and Epic can give something like that for multiple years now, why couldn’t Scopley… would also help to create such a system for Pokémon Go hackers, since that game is wayyy more competitive…
I’m dealing with a very similar problem in my area too. After realizing how many similar complaints have been posted here, with very little response from the PB team, I decided to start a petition to gather our concerns in one place.
