I just did a normal crystal mushroom fight and got 4 stars. Im missing my bunch of grapes i should have for completing this fight.

How many pikmin did you send?
The pikmin picks the items in this order:
1 for postcard
1 for each heart nectar and small fruits
2 for each medium fruit (the fruits from giant event mushrooms)
6 for each big fruit (the ones from big seedlings and most normal mushrooms)
8 for each giant fruit (grapes, etc. comes in this)
They pick the items from less number of pikmin to more, if you dont send enough generally the giant fruit dissapear.

Thanks for the info, i cant say for certain how many i sent. I just used auto battle and put however many i had available at the time. Id say based on how stong my squad was probably around 12-16.
Frankly though its quite ridiculous though that i missed out on rewards for such a reason. Was there anywhere where this information was readily available? Cause i had no prior knowledge of such a thing. I should have been given the option on what to take if i couldnt get everything.
In the game, I dont think so (but the big fruits gives you a certain perspective, because you can only pick them with power 6 or more)
This I see it in the Fruit (Pikmin Bloom) - Pikipedia, the Pikmin wiki but I remember it perfectly.
