My pikmin app is not tracking steps. It tracks it, then the next day it’s gone. But it still shows my flowers. Because of this I can’t level up.

the game suddenly stopped tracking my steps. It was working in the morning but then it stopped. I tried reinstalling the app if it was a temporary bug , but even if I did that it won’t work. I’m trying to do the anniversary challenges, but because of this bug I can’t do the first one.I even tried shaking my phone how I did it in the tutorial so that I cloud grow a pikmin, but even doing that it won’t work. I really don’t know what to do anymore, bc I even cheeked if the perms of the app were off, but no they are all on. Please fix this bug that I’m having

Yes my app shows very few steps taken when I’ve walked for a long while then it starts at zero after midnight or when done planting flowers. I’m not sure what else to do. I’ve restarted, hasn’t changed.
