I recently opt in to receive emails which was mentioned in a news update. Today I hear different people receiving emails with their year overview and a promo code. I didnt receive such email and I just saw email updates were opt out again without my action in this.
I also hear some people who experience the same issue I have.

I experience the same issue, the option is unchecked, while I am 100% sure I enabled it a couple of weeks ago.

Same here! Upon you mentioning it I went to check and I was opted out without my notice.

Well mine is checked for all notification and has been everytime I have checked it. I got emails until July 2023 and since then no emails. I checked spam/junk and checked all login linked emails. I even checked block senders list in case I by mistake blocked pikmin (and of course I didnt). I did add it to the safe senders list. I do not know what else to check.
Japanese users have reported the same problem. That is the problem I experienced as well.
With so many users expressing concern, I feel that this issue should be investigated.

here same issue ㅠㅜ i checked box ‘agree for getting promotion email taking’ before 12/9, and it is still available. but i didn’t get a event promotion code mail, i get a rest of promotion email like taco pikmin, 2024 glasses deco email, though

Same here.
Immediately after reading the news that we will receive a special mail I opt in to get e-mail.
A few days ago I was wondering why other got a mail and why my mail was still missing… then I saw that it was opt out somehow … Not funny

Yet another player who has seen the checkbox to opt in to receive email get unchecked. I checked at least twice after the announcement, and before December 9, and verified the box to receive emails was checked. This morning, after going through all my emails (including the spam folder), I checked in game, and the email box was unchecked. 
Any hope of actually getting the email?
This is still an issue. Not going to junk or spam. Email space is not an issue. Notifications in game all checked to receive email notifications. I can’t seem to get a response from anyone to help me.
An in-game announcement indicates that the “2024 Year in Review Email” will be resent to those who did not receive the email previously, if they set up their email sending by February 9 (GMT).
And we also acknowledge that there was a problem with the email being turned off even if the email was set up.
