So, I started Pikmin Bloom just last month! Even though I love Pikmin on console, this game hadn’t really been on my radar since I’m not big on mobile games. Then I got sucked in by the Kura Sushi promo while I was having dinner there last month, haha.
I’m enjoying Bloom a lot more than I thought I would! However, I have to admit that I was surprised this game was nearing its 3rd anniversary because, frankly, it doesn’t feel like a game that’s received three years worth of updates and improvements. It seems that the only substantial additions have been solely in the Decor department. Don’t get me wrong - I’m loving the game for its current simplicity, but for a product that made over 2 million dollars last month, I would hope for a gameplay loop with just a little more to offer. I don’t need a whole slew of new features or mechanics, but I’d love for Bloom to feel more like…Well, a Pikmin game, similar to how Pokemon GO feels like a legit Pokemon game.
When I saw that I could send my Pikmin into battle, I thought I might get to tussle with a classic enemy, like a Bulborb, or even a Blowhog. I couldn’t help but be disappointed when my only options were inanimate mushrooms of different colors and sizes. I’d really love to see new activities that boast more of the quintessential Pikmin flavor.
But how would the rest of you weigh in? Obviously, I just got here, so it’d be nice to hear from folks who have been able to see the game evolve since its earlier days.
For you know, lot of people asked for new mechanics even me for the game, if you want check the full list, its in discussion about the game, if you want the short version, here it is
From me, materials and buildings, golden nuggets for a few easy coins, every type of special mushroom like steel for purple, blender or shaker for make the nectar and new kinds with different fruits, 10 berries or 2 big fruits.
From the others, night mode for night-walk and glowing pikmin also ice pikmin of course, coopérative battles agains bulborbs and other kind of creatures, even pikmin casualities (i dont think so), controlled flower planting (choose the amount and the kind of petals to use)
And actually, they added the rare pikmin decorations, finish one of the 4 actual categories with for discover, i recommand you the restaurant, its a good start.
And i forgot some players want flower petals trade and same for pikmins, i dont think pikmins will be put in the decor collection if we have it by trade if it happens one day and petals, its smart because the event flowers are very hard to get and they sometimes ask for about 1 500 flowers, we dont have them a lot.
I would love to see the enemies come back, but inn a more tame way, instead of killing pikmin, it just hurt them and makes them unable to do anything for a set period of time.
