There are multiple craft places (Michael’s, etc) along with art galleries in my city hall that do not show up. Along with restaurants, and fast food. Because of this I have only been getting roadside decor and it’s genuinely a problem.
Totally agree!!
There was a pretty big museum that was built in 2024 but it wasn’t updated and can’t be detected in game…
I’ve read/heard it somewhere that the map data was pulled from OSM(OpenStreetMap) But it was probably not updated or something went wrong cause it was labeled and shown properly on OSM…
Same thing with some restaurants/stores that went out of business around COVID and have re-opened as something else.
Would be nice if they gave us an option to add/suggest big flowers, mushrooms, and postcards without having to be tied to a high level account of another game.
I live in a college town where new art projects are going up all the time and of course the new coffee places are all coming to town. Some of the big flowers are marking things that are no longer there and you can’t get close to them to plant by walking.
Using PoGo was a great starting point but now we should be allowed to give them the information to make it work better for us.
Agree, I personally played Pokemon Go for quite a while until I was driven away by the spoofers… I was close to get to the point to nominate/add more stops, too. Looking it up, Pokemon Go was released in 2016 and the players got the option to add more stops in 2019 for level 40 players, which was the highest level at that time.
Pikmin Bloom has been released for almost 5 years now, still no news regarding allowing Pikmin Bloom players to add more Big Flowers/Mushroom spots…
However, I’d think Pikmin Bloom would need a better way to “filter” genuine high level players other than checking just the players’ level. Due to the leveling up criteria are mainly steps and planting flowers, it’s awfully easy to cheat and fake those requirements. (Steps can be added by health apps and spoofers can easily plant flowers non-stop with enough petals…) Not to mention, to get to the current highest level 130, it can only be done by cheating. (Level 100~130 were added just a little more than an year ago. To get all the steps in, one has to make at least ~40k steps everyday… as of June 2026)
Know several friends in real life who’ve been playing for years but still at around level 60~90. I reached level 100 like in late 2024. (Started in summer of 22 and definitely spent a lot of time in this game)
Adding more requirements other than just being high level would be more important in my opinion… such as the number of plucked Pikmins or how many community badges acquired…etc (Or simply by checking the player’s Anniversary badges can prove their genuinity)
Would love to see Pikmin Bloom players being able to update the maps, but also wouldn’t be happy knowing cheaters get the same rights we’ve been asking and waiting for so long…
I was legit about to make a topic saying this exact thing- it feels like they haven’t updated the map in years. One of the landmarks in my local area is a building that isn’t even there anymore.
I live in a rural area without many mushrooms or big flowers. Even if I walk 2 miles every day I will only hit one mushroom. Used to be 2 but they actually took one away. I asked them to add our historic store at end of road but not high enough. Since I spend days without traveling I have little chance to get the mushrooms. If someone has been playing the game as many years as I have you would think they could help out.
It’s unfortunate, but even if Pikmin Bloom players were eventually given access to Wayspot nominations, the reality is that Big Flowers and Mushrooms have far stricter appearance conditions than Pokestops or Gyms in Pokémon GO.
That means the kinds of “good spots” we imagine simply wouldn’t appear in the game field, even if we nominated them ourselves.
And considering the current situation, if the map were updated today, the newly appearing spots would mostly be the low‑quality ones that Pokémon GO trainers have been piling up—coal, rubble, and other locations with no meaningful value.
This would further degrade the overall quality of the Pikmin Bloom map.
In that scenario, Pikmin Bloom would decline for reasons completely outside the control of its own player community.
After all, no one wants to send a postcard to a friend that they themselves would tear up, and walking every day just to bloom flowers on rubble only creates a sense of emptiness.
Because of this, Pikmin Bloom needs a different approach to obtain the kinds of spots its own community actually wants. Personally, I believe the following method would allow Pikmin Bloom to avoid negative external influences from Pokémon GO and Wayfarer as much as possible, and gradually build a high‑quality set of spots within about a year:
1. Allow players to add photos and vote on existing spots.
2. Rotate the active spots on a regular schedule (e.g., every two weeks).
3. Players add photos and vote on the spots they consider good.
4. After repeating this cycle for about a year, the system will clearly show which spots and photos Pikmin Bloom players prefer. The game can then adjust its spot‑selection rules to prioritize those.
5. Regarding the issue Pokémon GO faces with players trying to pull Gyms into range of their homes: Pikmin Bloom is less vulnerable. Big Flowers are meaningless unless bloomed, and Mushrooms can be entered as long as they are visible, so even if some spots are “pulled,” the negative impact is minimal.
With this approach, Pikmin Bloom can cultivate its own identity and maintain a map shaped by its community, rather than being forced to inherit the problems created in other games.
Kind of wanna circle back to the original problem of this post…
I think it’s more important for Pikmin Bloom players to have the option of editing existing stores/places that’s specifically meant for detectors first. (Like newly opened/closed restaurants, new museums, and attractions…etc) As far as I know, Pokemon Go or Ingress doesn’t have any location-related decor/in-game features. Since those spots plays a heavy part in Pikmin Bloom, we should be able to at least suggest or add/change the detector’s map info…
As for the postcards…
I really could care less about the postcard images or any related issues… For me, it’s mainly because the game had a big change like in 24 or something and we can no longer get big flower postcards without spending petals. Even if I bloomed the flower by walking/planting around it, I can’t get a postcard by carrying the fruit back like before… and spending petals for a postcard is just not worth it in my opinion… Also by that time my postcards were already full and I didn’t really bother to organize. I just kept sending them to a bunch of friends. The postcards have always been a “nice-to-have” feature but definitely not some actual motivation for me in this game.
And about the shrooms’ and big flowers’ locations…
It’s pretty straightforward why they set it up the way it is cause all the data is pulled from Pokemon Go and Ingress. I don’t live in a rural place but I’ve definitely heard a lot of Pokemon Go players complaining there’s nothing in suburb or small towns when the game first started. I know they’ve been adding a lot more spots throughout the years and I think it’s great/important for rural players. Even if the images are ugly, those are still mushrooms/big flowers to get nectar from… It’s simply practicality>>>good-looking postcards…
I just posted a pic of a horrible Postcard. Everyone can and should share their worst ones. I really love this game but the Postcard pictures should maybe, be double checked? ![]()
