Feature Request: Community-driven improvements for Big Flower and Mushroom postcards

Hello Niantic team and fellow Pikmin Bloom players,

I would like to suggest a feature that could significantly improve the postcard experience in Pikmin Bloom.

One of the things I really enjoy about Pikmin Bloom is collecting postcards from different places. These postcards are like small memories of the locations we have explored, and they make our Pikmin collections feel connected to the real world.

However, I have noticed that many Big Flower and Mushroom postcards, especially in Europe, do not always represent the actual beauty or uniqueness of the location.

For example:

  • Some postcards use low-quality or blurry images.
  • Some photos do not show the most interesting part of the location.
  • Some landmarks, historical buildings, parks, or cultural places are represented by random angles, parking areas, roads, or less meaningful views.
  • Many locations have interesting stories, but the postcard description provides little or no context.

This is a bit unfortunate because many of these places are actually beautiful and worth discovering.

My suggestion: A community-driven postcard improvement system

Could Pikmin Bloom introduce a feature where players can suggest improvements for existing Big Flower and Mushroom locations?

For example:

1. Suggest a better photo

Players could submit a replacement photo suggestion when:

  • The current image quality is poor.
  • The current image does not represent the location well.
  • A player has taken a better seasonal or more representative photo.

For example:

  • A beautiful photo of a castle instead of a random street view.
  • A spring photo of a famous garden instead of an empty winter scene.
  • A clear view of a historical monument instead of a distant or obstructed image.

2. Improve location descriptions

Players could also suggest additional information, such as:

  • Historical background.
  • Interesting facts.
  • The story behind a monument or landmark.
  • Local cultural information.

This would make postcards not only collectible items, but also small educational discoveries.

3. Community voting and review system

To avoid abuse, the system could include:

  • Community voting on suggested improvements.
  • Reviews from trusted players.
  • Final approval by Niantic.

Niantic already has experience with community-based location improvements through Wayfarer, so perhaps a similar approach could work for Pikmin Bloom.

Why I think this would benefit Pikmin Bloom

This feature could:

  • Make postcards more valuable and memorable.
  • Encourage players to explore and take better photos.
  • Increase engagement with local landmarks.
  • Create a stronger connection between the game and the real world.
  • Allow the community to help improve the quality of the game world.

Many Pikmin Bloom players are already travelers, photographers, and explorers. I believe many people would be happy to contribute high-quality photos and stories about places they discover.

A postcard should feel like a little treasure from a real place, and with the help of the community, many existing locations could become much more beautiful and meaningful.

Thank you for considering this idea!

What do other players think? Would you like to see a community postcard improvement feature in Pikmin Bloom?
