Is there a way to either nominate new flower or mushroom spots? I know in pokemon go you can nominate new locations. Can this be added to pikmin as well. I need to drive to other places to be able to play. Would love to be able to nominate places closer to home. Thank you.

Unfortunately, there is currently no system in place for general users to recommend potential Big Flower or Mushroom candidates.
Big Flower candidates are entirely determined by the platform’s administrators. If you wish to nominate a candidate through the Mushroom candidate selection process using wayfarer, you must meet certain levels in both Ingress or Pokémon GO and pass the wayfarer review process—though note that submissions may be rejected.
※Additionally, only one Mushroom candidate can be used in any given map area.
