It might just be my phone but that’s weird):
Hello @PokeryderW, Welcome to the community forum. Could you please contact us through in-app support so we can check and assist you better?
I’m having the same issue with iOS. I’ve done everything the support suggested. The in-game support is a chat bot that closed conversation immediately after I typed issue in. I don’t know how to fix this and get credit for community day count.
But that is a joke if anything ever was. When I try to contact your support from within the app I only get an automated reply from a bot.
I feel that there is a severe and ongoing problem with steps not counting. Yesterday Apple health closed the day at 17000+ steps and Pikmin bloom 251. Today when I look back at yesterday in Pikmin bloom it shows 0 steps for yesterday. Now at 10:05 pm Apple health shows around 12000 steps and Pikmin bloom less than 200.
I note that also other participants in steps challenge reports very few steps yesterday and today.
All pointers to trying to restart game or phone are wrong. That makes no difference.
Are any of the other users here operating their apps via niantic kids accounts? (And if so, Android? I saw one mention iOS, whereas ours is Android.) My son just started a couple days ago and is having the same issue, which I did find listed as a known issue that’s being investigated ( FAQ and Known Issues — Pikmin Bloom Help Center ) but it was not mentioned under iOS so I suspect the issue is broader than initially understood. So, I wonder if we can volunteer any information to help troubleshooting; I ask because this bug is preventing him from progressing to level 3 so he’s stuck with just two Pikmin and now he is becoming demoralized and wants to give up. The strangest thing is, that while it does register the steps on the home screen and on my side for our weekly challenge contributions, it shows zero steps logged for the Year To Date field on his profile within the app (which is impossible, as he has hatched four Pikmin already.) Speaking of which, I suspect this is linked with another bug that hasn’t been listed on the aforementioned FAQ page: he has hatched two red and two yellow, but yesterday one yellow went missing abruptly (not released, nor on standby, simply gone) and just now the remaining yellow one vanished, which I witnessed firsthand, so I know it’s not a PEBKAC. I suspect that there is a master tally (seen on the profile) that is getting corrupted and set to zero, and that his Pikmin are going missing when there’s a sanity check that notices that those couldn’t have been hatched if he’s at zero. Also, as the other user mentioned above, we reached out to help via his app as recommended above but all it does is have a bot take down a message and dismiss your chat after saying nobody will get back whatsoever. How can we volunteer to help? I’d like to help however I can because this is a great way to get him active.
Hi, I was also frustrated with the steps mismatch at the end of days. My watch and the game were not syncing and I realized I had to have my phone on me for every step to count. I purchased a small sling bag and always carry my phone on me now.
I hope in the future, they will come up with a way to sync our garmin, fitbit, apple etc to the game. My steps on the treadmill for instance don’t count, so I go walk at the shopping centre on rainy days.
Hope this helps you get more steps counted.
