Item Limit Reached warning when inventory not full

I’m trying to collect a golden seedling to complete stage 3.3, but I get a popup telling me that my seedling inventory is full. Any fixes? I could just discard the seedling but I do want to try to keep it if possible.

@spacevade You have 2 seedling expeditions, they count to the max.

If the pikmin are going to pick them you can cancel and the seedling stay for picking later.
If the pikmin have the seedlings (or fruit), it banish if you cancel the expedition.

Or you can discard one of your current seedlings and pick this.
