Hello. I am a dedicated, long-term player of Pikmin Bloom. The recent global map update (outside of Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau) has severely negatively impacted the gameplay experience for overseas players, greatly discouraging us from going out for our daily walks. I am writing to share some critical pain points regarding these changes:
1. Oversight of Geographical Differences: Sparse Spots and Dead Mushrooms Unlike high-density cities like Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Macau, overseas regions are vast, and Big Flower/Pikmin spots are already very sparse and scattered. Following the update, my local area saw an increase in mushrooms but a severe decrease in Big Flowers. Due to the lower population density and scattered neighborhoods overseas, the newly added mushrooms often end up as “dead spots” where no other players are around to join the battles. This update fails to account for the reality of the overseas player ecosystem.
2. Fewer Big Flowers Destroy Motivation to Walk, Contradicting the Game’s Core Purpose Most critically, the drastic reduction of Big Flowers has significantly diminished players’ motivation and desire to go outside for walks and plant flowers. This directly contradicts the game’s original Aims & Objectives—which are to encourage people to walk, explore the world, and stay active. When going for a walk no longer yields the joy and reward of blooming flowers, the game loses its core value.
3. Impossibly Low Drop Rates for July Event Flower Nectar To make matters worse during the July event, the very few Big Flowers we manage to find and bloom rarely yield the primary or secondary event flowers needed to clear the stages. With fewer spots available and an incredibly low success rate for blooming target flowers, our chances of obtaining specific nectar have plummeted. The barrier to progression has become frustratingly high.
4. Game Design Leaning Heavily Towards “Forced Monetization” The combination of the above issues has created a highly frustrating experience. It strongly feels as though the game is being intentionally made difficult to pressure players into spending real money on nectar or shop items just to progress. This completely goes against the relaxing, healthy lifestyle that Pikmin Bloom originally promoted.
Due to our geographical limitations, overseas players already have to put in much more effort to enjoy this game. Over-monetization and poor balancing will only accelerate player churn. I sincerely hope the management team will reconsider the environment of global players (especially in vast, low-density regions outside of HK/TW/MO), restore the density of Big Flowers, and optimize the bloom rates for event target flowers.
I look forward to your positive response and adjustments to the game balance.
