Over here in the US, embassies and even the white house are treated as points of interest (mushrooms and or big flowers). If I recall correctly, the points of interest for embassies in Washington DC were plaques or sculptures. The White House itself is a focal point. I think a consulate sign or sculpture was also a pic. Other than highschool, middle, and elementary, seems like anything is a candidate.
I don’t know about military installations or private property inaccessible to the public though.
