I love the new update, I can plan out a route instead of just hoping to find the mushroom im looking for.
But I’ve also noticed an insane increase in spoofer activity, names I’ve never seen before and I’ve been playing since day 1. I fear its only going to get worse. I hate that no matter what, people will always find ways to ruin something.
Had anyone else noticed an increase in spoofer activity?
Yeah, I’ve noticed a slight increase in that too. It really sucks. (BTW I’ve also been playing since close to launch, and I have experience spotting spoofing abuse issues in both Pogo & Ingress.) I’ll also say, though, that I’ve heard from multiple players in very dense metro areas of Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, etc. that they’re sometimes unable to find any mushrooms (aside from small ones) to use their daily three free battles on, because every mushroom around them is full already! I don’t consider this a justification for spoofing, though.
Has anyone here ever noticed a very long, unbroken line of planted flowers on their map? One that somehow passes across highways or through private property? That’s potentially evidence of someone faking their GPS location to complete planting tasks or to level up faster. That recent example in my screenshot was several miles long! So yes, it happens.
When I searched for location spoofing apps in the app store, there are many spoofing apps. They are probably messing up the location with spoofing apps.
